This 3rd Edition of Zetetic Astronomy: Earth Not a Globe was written in 1881 By Parallex, who was also known as Samuel Birley Rowbotham. Parallax was a Flat Earth Theorist, and Worked To Educate Others About Why He Believed the Earth Was Flat Instead Of A Planet. In This Book, Parallax Uses Diagrams of Experiments, As Well As Text, to Prove that the Earth Is Flat. Rowbotham was an English inventor who was born in 1816 and Died in 1884. "Rowbotham's method, which he called Zetetic Astronomy, models the Earth as an enclosed plane centered at the North Pole and bounded along its perimeter by a wall of ice, with the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars moving only several hundred miles above the surface of Earth." - Wikipedia Although Written at the Turn of the Century, this Flat Earth Book is Very Relevant for Today. Fully illustrated. Samuel Birley Rowbotham, under the pseudonym 'Parallax', lectured for two decades up and down Britain promoting his unique flat earth theory. In this book he lays out his world system. Rowbotham believed that the earth is flat; that the continents float on an ocean which has a layer of fire under it; that the lands we know are surrounded by an infinite wilderness of ice and snow, beyond the Antarctic ocean, bordered by an immense circular ice-cliff. The Zetetic Sun, moon, planets and stars are all only a few hundred miles above the surface of the earth. Needless to say, to make his system work, the author had to throw out a great deal of science.

"Zetetic Astronomy" is an 1881 treatise by Samuel Birley Rowbotham. Samuel Birley Rowbotham (1816 - 1884) was an English writer and inventor. He is most famous "Zetetic Astronomy," an idea that the Earth is not spherical, but an enclosed plane centred at the North Pole and encircled by a wall of ice. According to Rowbotham, the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars are only a few hundred miles above the Earth. This volume will appeal to those with an interest in Flat Earth theory, and it is not to be missed by collectors of vintage literature of this ilk. Contents include: "Introduction--Experiments proving the Earth to be a Plane," "The Earth no Axial or Orbital Motion," "The True Distance of the Sun and Stars," "The Sun moves in a Circle over the Earth, concentric with the North Pole," "Diameter of Sun's path Constantly Changing," "Causes of Day and Night, Seasons, &c.," "Cause of 'Sun Rise' and 'Sun Set'," etc. Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. Samuel Birley Rowbotham advances the Flat Earth theory, which holds that Earth is not in fact an oblate spheroid planet, but an enclosed plane above which the astronomical bodies are situated. This premium edition contains all of Rowbotham's original graphs, charts and drawings. This book began as a pamphlet in the 1840s, explaining the theory with a few sketches alongside. Rowbotham was already an inventor and author, and over time theories of Zetetic Astronomy - in which the Earth is flat - became popular. In 1881 the author expanded and published this book, in part to meet public and scientific scrutiny. Experiments and demonstrations are conducted in support of the Earth being flat, with the astronomical bodies situated above, rather than around it. Most of these are framed with illustrations and diagrams, that the reader understands Rowbotham's notions. Various chapters concern motion of the heavenly bodies, sunrises, sunsets, the tidal movements, and distances of the Sun and Moon from Earth.

This premium edition contains all of Rowbotham's original graphs, charts and drawings. This book originally began as a short pamphlet in the 1840s, explaining the basics of the theory with a few sketches alongside. Rowbotham was already a known inventor and author at the time, over time the theories of Zetetic Astronomy - in which the Earth is portrayed as flat - became popular. Eventually, in 1881, the author greatly expanded and published this book, in part to meet demands of public and scientific scrutiny. Keen to let the hypothesis stand on its own merits, this book was first published under the pseudonym of 'Parallax'. Upon the pages are many experiments and demonstrations, all of which are conducted in support of the Earth being flat, with the astronomical bodies situated above, rather than all around it. Most of these are framed with illustrations and diagrams, that the reader better understand Rowbotham's explanations. Various chapters concern such topics as motion of the heavenly bodies, sunrises, sunsets, the tidal movements, and the actual distances of the Sun and Moon from the Earth. Samuel Rowbotham was fiercely in favor of his theory, and asked many leading astronomers and scientists of his day to disprove it. One success of his public challenges was that it exposed many in the scientific community to be angry and poor at coping with a man with a well-argued and contrary hypothesis. Aware of these indignant sensitivities, Rowbotham was vociferous in disputing the prevailing order. Today, Zetetic Astronomy both as a book and a movement lives on. Following Rowbotham's death in 1884, his friend Lady Elizabeth Blount founded the Universal Zetetic Society, which was comprised of people committed to the belief that the Earth is flat. Although membership declined, following World War Two the group was revived as The Flat Earth Society, which continues to discuss subjects relevant to the movement in meetings and on the Internet.

This book reveals the mother of all conspiracies. It sets forth biblical proof and irrefutable evidence that will cause the scales to fall from your eyes and reveal that the world you thought existed is a myth. The most universally accepted scientific belief today is that the earth is a globe, spinning on its axis at a speed of approximately 1,000 miles per hour at the equator, while at the same time it is orbiting the sun at approximately 66,600 miles per hour. All of this is happening as the sun, in turn, is supposed to be hurtling through the Milky Way galaxy at approximately 500,000 miles per hour. The Milky Way galaxy, itself, is alleged to be racing through space at a speed ranging from 300,000 to 1,340,000 miles per hour. What most people are not told is that the purported spinning, orbiting, and speeding through space has never been proven. In fact, every scientific experiment that has ever been performed to determine the motion of the earth has proven that the earth is stationary. Yet, textbooks ignore the scientific proof that contradicts the myth of a spinning and orbiting globe. Christian schools have been hoodwinked into teaching heliocentrism, despite the clear teaching in the bible that the earth is not a sphere and does not move. This book reveals the evil forces behind the heliocentric deception, and why scientists and the Christian churches have gone along with it.

Planetary Delusion …The Falling Away By: Steve Barrett Using the Authorized Bible, Steve Barrett explores the topic of the true age and shape of the earth. Barrett argues that the “heliocentric lie” has been the foundation for many deceiving theologies. This “planetary delusion,” has been a vehement force of indoctrination that could be the most deceptive way to introduce an intergalactic savior with malicious intent. Planetary Delusion …The Falling Away describes the prevalence of end-times deception and illustrates the importance of the biblical description of earth and how it may be related to the falling away. While primarily an eschatological study, it was written with both the Christian and non-believer in mind. Readers willing to have an open mind will be provoked to study the Bible and dig deeper to discover the truth for themselves.

This textbook introduces the reader to basic problems in the philosophy of science and ethics, mainly by means of examples from medicine. It is based on the conviction that philosophy, medical science, medical informatics, and medical ethics are overlapping disciplines. It claims that the philosophical lessons to learn from the twentieth century are not that nature is a ‘social construction’ and that ‘anything goes’ with respect to methodological and moral rules. Instead, it claims that there is scientific knowledge, but that it is never completely secure; that there are norms, but that they are situation-bound; and that, therefore, it makes good sense to search for scientific truths and try to act in a morally decent way. Using philosophical catchwords, the authors advocate ‘fallibilism’ and ‘particularism’; a combination that might be called ‘pragmatic realism’.

This book is a sequel to Heaven and Earth in Ancient Greek Cosmology (Springer 2011). With the help of many pictures, the reader is introduced into the way of thinking of ancient believers in a flat earth. The first part offers new interpretations of several Presocratic cosmologists and a critical discussion of Aristotle’s proofs that the earth is spherical. The second part explains and discusses the ancient Chinese system called gai tian. The last chapter shows that, inadvertently, ancient arguments and ideas return in the curious modern flat earth cosmologies.
