This is a paper doll book of a little fairy (the "Southern Magnolia fairy") inspired by the lovely artwork of Cicely Mary Barker, especially her "Flower Fairy" collections. This book consists of one doll with over thirty costume pieces, twenty-four accessories, and six animal companions (butterflies, a fledgling mockingbird, and a squirrel). This book was published through Amazon KDP. The paper weight is slightly thicker than ordinary printer paper. The paper weight is the same for both doll/s and costume/s. The artist recommends backing the doll/s with cardstock if a thicker doll is desired (the doll and costumes function perfectly without the added thickness, however).

This little fairy will enchant you with her beautiful outfits made from delicate flower petals, leaves, and berries that change with the seasons. For spring she wears the first blooms of the year that pop out of the ground — the daffodil and crocus. During the warm summer months you can find her in a morning glory, rose, or daisy costume. When the weather starts to turn colder in autumn, she puts on her oak leaf dress and acorn hat, or a chrysanthemum skirt. Zelda Fitzgerald, along with her husband F. Scott Fitzgerald, is remembered above all else as a personification of the style and glamour of the roaring twenties - an age of carefree affluence such as the world has not seen since. But along with the wealth and parties came a troubled mind, at a time when a woman exploiting her freedom of expression was likely to attract accusations of insanity. After 1934 Zelda spent most of her life in a mental institution; outliving her husband by few years, she died in a fire as she was awaiting electroconvulsive therapy in a sanatorium. Zelda's story has often been told by detractors, who would cast her as a parasite in the marriage - most famously, Ernest Hemingway accused her of taking pleasure in blunting her husband's genius; when she wrote her autobiographical novel, Fitzgerald himself complained she had used his material. But was this fair, when Fitzgerald's novels were based on their life together? Sally Cline's biography, first published in 2003, makes use of letters, journals, and doctor's records to detail the development of their marriage, and to show the collusion between husband and doctors in a misdirected attempt to 'cure' Zelda's illness. Their prescription - no dancing, no painting, and above all, no writing - left her creative urges with no outlet, and was bound to make matters worse for a woman who thrived on the expression of allure and wealth.

Paper dolls might seem the height of simplicity—quaint but simple toys, nothing more. But through the centuries paper figures have reflected religious and political beliefs, notions of womanhood, motherhood and family, the dictates of fashion, approaches to education, individual self-image and self-esteem, and ideas about death. This book examines paper dolls and their symbolism—from icons made by priests in ancient China to printable Kim Kardashians on the Internet—to show how these ephemeral objects have an enduring and sometimes surprising presence in history and culture.

Readers will learn to make flat figures, fabric books, and a fairy-style fan. Culea covers the basics and provides new techniques–such as using Shiva paint sticks and stencils, working with silk rods and waste, and using lace and trims as a frame–while teaching you to how create a flat figure doll, memory journal with embellished cloth pages, and a beautiful fan. Professional tips, ideas for embellishments, cutting-edge techniques, and complete patterns for all the projects are included.
