Evangelicalism, a faith with which 1 in 4 American adults identifies, exerts an enormous impact on American society. Its story typically begins in the Seventies and is portrayed as a reaction to the social revolution of the Sixties. But the beginnings of evangelicalism as a distinctive American subculture date to the dawn of the Media Age. With the arrival of radio, evangelicals flocked to the airwaves. For the first time, they developed their own mass culture as evangelicals nationwide, across denominational lines, heard the same popular preachers and music. The Master's Radio captures the evangelical media and music culture of this pivotal midcentury era as evangelicals left behind the fundamentalism of the early twentieth century and prepared for the culturally engaged New Christian Right of the late twentieth century. To capture the spirit of these times, The Master's Radio avoids dry historical writing with a narratively driven "historical ethnography" that presents the era's major radio evangelists and songwriters in the own words--not only from their writings and recordings but from songbooks, record liner notes, and "song story" anthologies of the period. The Master's Radio is sure to become the standard work on the midcentury rise of evangelical mass culture.

The Bible says in Proverbs 13:15, Good understanding giveth favor: but the way of transgressors is hard. If we go to hell, we have to go by the preacher s sermons, by your mother s prayers, and most of all by Calvary. I'm so thankful that God saved me and changed my life. Pastor Manders s heart s desire is to tell the lost about the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, so that all can receive salvation and be saved from the wrath and judgments of God. They are soon coming upon all sinners and unbelievers and all those who refuse to believe on the Son of God. With a great desire to do something for the Lord, he preached his first sermon in a little army tent, and he has since traveled to fifteen countries and is now pastor at Grace & Truth Church in Dawsonville, Georgia. Pastor Manders s dream was to have a church like the Murrayville Revival Center where he got saved. The Lord showed him in a night vision that it was his perfect will, so he started working toward it with no money, just a step of faith. It has been the Lord s to make a way from a storefront to a cabinet shop that we renovated that is now a beautiful church. Through much prayer and sacrifice, now the vision has come to pass. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Spiritual Information is a collection of one hundred essays that explore a portion of the vast interdisciplinary approaches to the study of science and religion. Individually and together, the essays show how the study of ourselves, our planet, and the universe helps us understand our place as spiritual beings within God’s universe. The book is a tribute to Sir John Templeton and his pioneering commitment toward new research that results in “one hundredfold more spiritual information than humankind has ever possessed before.” It begins with essays that reflect on Sir John’s principal domains of interest and expertise: free-enterprise based finance and accelerating spiritual progress. Themes of the sections are: •Science-Religion Dialogue •Cosmology, Physics, and Astronomy •Mathematics, Musicology, and Speculation •Biological Evolution—the Human Being •Social Evolution—the Human Mind and Heart •Religion and Health •The Nature of the Divine •Theology and Philosophy •Faith Traditions “Sir John’s leadership has enabled us to edge ever closer to the frontier where knowledge meets wisdom at the threshold of ‘ultimate reality,’” notes the editor in the preface to this volume. As Spiritual Information presents an overview of how far we have come in the science and religion dialogue, it also opens windows to the vast possibilities for additional research and further advances in spiritual information.

Friendship Radio was written to tell the story of the beginning of this unique ministry and to show readers how real and involved the Lord is in our lives. He is a God of love and care, and has a concern for our every need. I also wanted to show that we are not all alone in our work for the Lord. He brings people into our lives who are just who is needed and with whom we can share the joys of serving the Lord together.
