As guest of the Buganda, different groups flew in from Kilimanjaro and the Middle East, landing at Entebbe where they were welcomed like VIPs. Staying in Kampala, at Reste Corner, The Speke Hotel and Aki Bua Road, they saw the sites of the Muganda. Their tour included visiting the Naggalabi Coronation Site at Buddo, the government buildings and listening to jazz in the palace grounds. A day trip to the source of the Nile and to Jinja, the sugar cane capital of Uganda, followed. Later in their stay, they spent a weekend on one of the Ssese Islands in the middle of Lake Victoria. Finally, going on safari at Murchison Falls, the disparate groups fell in love with all aspects of Uganda during their stay.

Life looks positive as a young woman still in my late teens, when I fall madly in love with my Prince Charming, a wonderful man of good looks, money and power... until he attempts to kill me with the carving knife. Meeting my Perfect Valentine, becomes a major turning point in my life, directing me through important choices to be made and amazing experiences where I travel and begin to fulfil my childhood dreams. It is a story of growth, pushing boundaries, dealing with pain, re-learning basic truths, and actually beginning to love myself. Having always been told I was ugly – well that I have eyes like a cod fish – would you like to kiss a cod? Selling everything I own, and travelling as a missionary, each journey reveals inner truths, baring strengths and weaknesses, and taking me closer to my awaiting husband, the desire of my beating heart. But life continues to take turns causing my father at first to disown me, and push boundaries in my parents own minds of acceptance. There are times of incredible worthlessness and fountains of fruitfulness and joy. Lessons to be learned, and mountains to be climbed experiencing the mountain tops of life... but life is rarely lived on a mountain top, and the downhill climb can be treacherous leading you back into the valley of the shadows of death. Those days being single were some of the most fulfilling times of my life, a privilege to be the ‘hand of love’ to those in need. Climaxing to the words I had longed to say all my life, and be asked the question that required my answer of ‘I do’, leads me to the imaginary place of all fairytales... to live Happily Ever After or not!

Five years of gruelling IVF still haven't brought Pamela and Dave the baby they long for. Their marriage is now so rocky, they need hiking boots and crampons just to negotiate dinner. While Dave takes up chanting and becomes obsessed with manure, Pamela wonders if she should escape to Lachlan's Land Rover. Although there's Lachlan's wife, Rosie, to consider. The basis for the upcoming major motion picture The Program directed by Stephen Frears (High Fidelity, The Queen, Philomena), starring Chris O'Dowd as journalist David Walsh and Ben Foster as Lance Armstrong. When Lance Armstrong won his first Tour de France in 1999, the sports world had found a charismatic new idol. Journalist David Walsh was among a small group covering the tour who suspected Armstrong’s win wasn’t the feel-good story it seemed to be. From that first moment of doubt, the next thirteen years of Walsh’s life would be focused on seeking the answers to a series of hard questions about Armstrong’s astonishing success. As Walsh delved ever deeper into the shadow world of performance-enhancing drugs in professional athletics, he accumulated a mounting pile of evidence that led a furious Armstrong to take legal action against him. But he could not make Walsh—or the story—go away, and in the autumn of 2012, Walsh was vindicated when the cyclist was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles. With this remarkable book, Walsh has produced both the definitive account of the Armstrong scandal, and a testament to the importance of journalists who are willing to report a difficult truth over a popular fantasy.

Clancy circled the globe during 1912-1913 on a 1912 motorcycle. There were no GPSs, ATMs, Internet, and often no gas, roads or motorcycle repair shops. It describes the first motorcycle global adventure ride by the man who survived a dream quest with his gun, determination, grit, and guts"--Back cover.

My husband and I dreamed of an early retirement in Spain. When we both suddenly lost our jobs, we decided to turn the dream into reality. Thousands of foreigners move to Spain every year. What is the feel and texture of day in, day out living for these people? We searched for books on what it was like for ordinary, middleclass foreigners to live in Spain. We found books for tourists, books on how to buy a property, how to restore an old farmhouse and finding a holiday home, We found nothing about making a permanent move. Our search for information was in vain but we blindly made the move anyway. This book is a diary of our first two years in Spain. The people are real and the events are true. The first years in a new country are always transitional years. Ours were fraught with excitement, frustration, delight, culture shock and exasperation! If you are planning a new life in Spain, I hope this book is helpful. I wish you luck and happiness on your adventure.
