How are we to relate to a three-personed God? The idea of the Trinity may initially seem too abstract to understand, but the truth is that a deeper knowledge of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit has daily importance. Convinced that many Christians “have some level of awareness that God is triune...[but] are virtually Unitarian,” the authors have written a practical and theologically robust resource to help readers grow closer to the Triune God. Philip Ryken and Michael LeFebvre examine the doctrine of the Trinity in four parts. They explain the roles of the Father, Son, and Spirit in salvation; answer difficult questions about the Trinity; explore the believer’s relationship to each person of the Trinity; and provide an exposition of the various Gospel narratives depicting how the three persons of the Trinity work together to accomplish the redemptive purposes of God. Their careful treatment of these central truths captures important implications for the Christian life. Our Triune God is a helpful guide for Christians wanting to deepen their faith and for pastors as they shepherd their congregations toward a richer love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

One God, the Son, the Spirit and the Father Miss this and you miss life itself, its meaning and its purpose. Who is God To know God it is important we understand who He is and to truly live we must know Him at the deepest level. We must come to know His character, such as, His holiness, His gifts to us, such as His Son and His Spirit each wrapped in His grace. We must know of His love for us and how He desires we respond to Him. If one knows you but does not touch your heart in the way you desire your intimate relationship will always be hindered and fall short. One God Three Persons We will learn that there is only One God but that He exists as three Persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. An aspect of God far beyond our understanding is that of the triune God which we call the Trinity - God being three, very distinct Persons, yet one God, each living in us and relating to us in very significant, personal ways. The Trinity, though not mentioned by that name in Scripture, is part of what He has chosen to reveal to us so that we might know Him better and how He is working in our lives. We cannot explain it all but we can choose, by faith, to believe it and to trust that this relationship with God in this way is part of His perfect plan for us. The Holy Spirit After One God Three Persons we will look at The Holy Spirit. Who He is and His impact in our lives. Our God, dwells within us through the Holy Spirit. The power to change, the power to live a victorious life, the power to be like Christ and to live above life's circumstances come through the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Scripture says, "He is the radiance of the glory of God." His radiance is like the shining of the sun, shining God's glory in perfection throughout creation and into our lives. His radiance also shines from within us; it is the glow on our face; it is His character within us; it is our Christ likeness that is proclaiming Him. It is His radiance within us that shows we are His. Our Heavenly Place It is where the Christian life should be lived. You only arrive there through Jesus Christ and by being guided by the Holy Spirit as He dwells in you. It is where you are surrendered, have faith and trust God in everything. It is where you worship and love Him with all your heart, all your soul and all your might. It is where you bring Him glory from the depth of your existence. And it is where you receive every spiritual blessing from Heaven. God's Eternal Purpose For Believers In the next chapter we conclude our time together with this statement, "God's eternal purpose for us is to become Christ like and to bring Him glory." "I will" does not bring us into Christ likeness, it never has and it never will. The goal is way too big, the responsibility too great and the dependence on me, who I am, too daunting for my humanity. It takes a divine power, a heavenly internal guide to mold us into the image of Christ. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 As we yield our lives to the Holy Spirit we will begin to be transformed into Christ likeness, from one degree of glory to another. We will begin to find our desires will change, our longing to read God's Word will grow, we will spend more time in prayer, we will worship Him from a deeper level than we ever realized possible. We will discover a love for Jesus and a desire to be Christ like that is supernatural. We will begin to feel we are not of this world and what once was pleasing will become unpleasing and almost pungent to us because it dishonors our God. One day, we will begin to realize we are not struggling, it is like we are on auto pilot as we yield to the Holy Spirit. Life will become easier and it will have a richness we never knew existed in this world.

Life happens at the intersection of faith and culture. Whether we are Christians or not, we all have some narrative about the way the world ought to be that shapes how we view the world and live our lives. In this book, Anthony Bradley explores those intersections in ways that analyze and direct our imaginations toward the best practices that lead to human flourishing. Economics, political philosophy, sociology, psychology, and theology are just a few of the disciplines used in an attempt to make sense of a world where things are not the way they are supposed to be. Something does seem strange about the world, but we are not left without tools and principles that we need to make life work at the intersections of faith and culture. The aim of Something Seems Strange is to provide a model of thinking about life at those intersections, so that people can lively freely according to their God-given design.

"Transformed - God's Power in You" Who is GodThe radical transformation that takes place when God dwells within us is that we become like Him. So then, we must get know who He is in order to understand who we are becoming. Truly knowing Him, requires getting to know Him at the deepest level; His character, such as His love or holiness and His ways, the things He does; such as give us the gift of His Son that we might have our sins forgiven and be in relationship with Him. Or the gift of His Spirit and His grace that empowers us to be like Him and do what He asks us to do. He also gives each of us gifts to use for His purposes. As in any intimate relationship, receiving and returning His love is how He desires we respond to Him. One God Three PersonsAs we continue to learn about God, the Scriptures will show us there is only one God but He exists as three Persons; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. This aspect of God, which is far beyond our understanding is that of a triune God, which we call the Trinity - God being three very distinct Persons, yet one God, living in us and each relating to us in very significant, personal ways. The Trinity, though not mentioned by that name in Scripture, is part of what He has chosen to reveal to us so that we might know Him better and understand the way He is working in our lives. Though we cannot explain it all, we can choose, by faith, to take Him at His Word, believe it and trust that it is in relationship with God in this way that is part of His perfect plan for us.The Holy SpiritThe Person of the Holy Spirit is part of the One, yet triune God. Part of understanding God includes understanding Who the Holy Spirit is and the role He plays in our lives as Believers. Our God dwells within us through the Holy Spirit. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that changes us, enables us to live a victorious life, become like Christ and live above life's circumstances.JesusJesus says that He is the "radiance of the glory of God" - the exact representation of God (God Himself in the flesh), the totality of God with all His power and attributes. Jesus' radiance is like the shining of the sun, shining God's glory in perfection throughout creation and into our lives. His radiance also shines from within us as we become like Him. It is the glow on our face and His character within us; our "Christ-likeness" that is proclaiming Him and shows we are His.Our Heavenly PlaceThe Heavenly Place is where the Christian life is lived. We live in this place through Jesus as we are guided by the Holy Spirit Who dwells within us. We get there by surrendering all to Him, having faith in His Word and trusting God is all things. It is a place where we worship Him and love Him with "all our heart and with all our soul and with all our might." When we live in this place, we desire to bring Him glory from the very depth of our soul and it is where we receive every spiritual blessing from Heaven.God's Eternal Purpose For BelieversAs mentioned in the preface, all of this concludes with God's eternal purpose for Believers; which is for us to become like Christ and to bring Him glory. (In all we think, do and say.) We have no power on our own to achieve this. Simply saying "I will" and trying in our own strength cannot bring us into Christ-likeness. It has never worked for anyone in the past nor will it for anyone in the future. Without Christ and the Holy Spirit in you, it is impossible to become like Christ. It takes Divine power and a heavenly, internal guide to mold us into the image of Christ."And we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord the Spirit,"II Corinthians 3:18

Could there be anything more exciting and blessed assurance in our life than knowing that the creator of the universe loves us? That is what this book “God’s love in 3-dimensions” is about, God’s love for us, and His designed purpose for our lives; Reflecting back over more than forty years of service in the Body of Christ; I have found the most important things to be taught and expressed, to bring love and unity, and success to the life of the Church, and to our personal lives are, “God’s love for us,” “Our love for God,” and “Our love for one another.” For the success and the life of the Church, and for our personal lives, God’s love must prevail. “God’s Love in 3-dimensions” reiterates the plea of the writings of our Lord’s Apostles, and the prayer of our Lord, for love and unity. The apostles of our Lord pleaded for us throughout the scriptures to have love and unity through the Spirit of God’s love. Jesus our Lord prayed for God’s unity and love for His followers; “that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in Me and I am in You.” “I have made You known to them, and will continue to make You known in order that the love You have for Me may be in them and that I Myself may be in them.”(John 17:21&26). What great accomplishments and success await us when we walk in unity with our Lord and Heavenly Father. The greatness of God’s love, joy and peace fills our hearts, souls and minds, providing divine direction and assurance as we walk in our Lord’s Spirit of love. And what great accomplishments have been made by the body of Christ when our Lord’s love and unity prevail among His body members, when working together in the directives and spirit of their Lord. What creates and produces unity with the Heavenly Father, within us, and within the body of Christ? God’s love! What motivated God’s plan of salvation for mankind? God’s love! What power innovated and sustained our Lord, and Savior, in carrying out God’s plan of salvation? God’s love! What would be the greatest and most significant news a person could receive? God loves you! What is the greatest and most significant news one could ever share with another? God loves you! What brings unity and peace within our individual selves, and the Lord’s Church? The knowledge, the receiving, and the expression of God’s love! This book is written through the spiritual desire to glorify and praise the Triune God Head, for their love.

How were holidays chosen and taught in biblical Israel, and what did they have to do with the creation narrative? Michael LeFebvre considers the calendars of the Pentateuch, arguing that dates were added to Old Testament narratives not as journalistic details but to teach sacred rhythms of labor and worship. LeFebvre then applies this insight to the creation week, finding that the days of creation also serve a liturgical purpose.

Our Triune God

When we read that “ God is love ” ( 1 John 4 : 8 ) it is the word agapē which describes God . ... God so loved the world that he gave his only Son , that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life ” ( John 3:16 ) .

Who is the God of the Bible? From both within the church and outside her walls the orthodox doctrine of the Holy Trinity, declared in Scripture and passed down in ecumenical creeds and local confessions of faith, is under attack. The emerging absence of a Trinitarian mind-set so prevalent in the church today has enormous implications for the future of the Christian faith. Concerned to counter contemporary attacks on the doctrine of God, Peter Toon here demonstrates the existence and priority of a Trinitarian pattern in Scripture and defends the essential role of the Trinity in Christian belief, faith, and practice.
