The orderliness of the universe and the existence of human beings already provides some reason for believing that there is a God - as argued in Richard Swinburne's earlier book Is There a God ? Swinburne now claims that it is probable that the main Christian doctrines about the nature of God and his actions in the world are true. In virtue of his omnipotence and perfect goodness, God must be a Trinity, live a human life in order to share our suffering, and found a church which would enable him to tell all humans about this. It is also quite probable that he would provide his human life as an atonement for our wrongdoing, teach us how we should live and tell us his plans for our future after death. Among founders of religions, Jesus satisfies uniquely well the requirement of living the sort of human life which God would need to have lived. But to give us adequate reason to believe that Jesus was God, God would need to put his 'signature' on the life of Jesus by an act which he alone could do, for example raise him from the dead. There is adequate historical evidence that Jesus rose from the dead. The church which he founded gave plausible interpretations of his basic message. Therefore Christian doctrines are probably true.

Jesus God Man Or Myth

Whether Jesus lived or not, we still have a lot to learn about ourselves and our true place in the universe. This book, although critical, may be useful in that respect.

Did pagan mythologies represent Christs miracles in order to convince them to accept the Christian faith? Beyond these miracles is there enough evidence to prove there was a Jesus? Cutner says no. He also says that the Apostle Paul never portrayed Jesus as a man, but as a spiritual being. To Paul, Christ is found in a spiritual sense within oneself, as opposed to being an actual historical personage. When the Church accepted Paul, this inner reflection was outwardly projected by the Church into an actual mana saviour, according to Cutner. This might be why Paul was almost rejected by the Churchhis views posed a danger to those who might rely on their own spiritual knowledge, rather than the authority of the Church. Whether Jesus lived or not, we still have a lot to learn about ourselves and our true place in the universe. This book, although critical, may be useful in that respect.

As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we tend to be fairly established in and confident of our doctrine of the Godhead. Our first Article of Faith, "We believe in God the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost," is foundational for us. In our church vernacular we use the terms "God" and "Heavenly Father" to refer to the Father; and we use "the Savior" and other appropriate names and titles to refer to Jesus Christ. But we never call Jesus "God". And yet throughout the scriptures, Jesus Christ announces himself to be God, often with this simple expression, "I am God." If Jesus refers to himself as God, why don't we? Is it a matter of cultural linguistics? Or does it go deeper than that? Is it that we hold the Father to be the only true God, and thus Jesus, whose atonement we humbly accept and whose intercessory role we freely acknowledge, must occupy a somewhat lower station than that of "God"? We worship the Father; do we also worship Jesus Christ? How does that work? We experience the wondrous rebirth in Christ through which we become his sons and daughters. How should we properly act upon that Father/child relationship? In this book, Is Jesus God?, we explore these questions of culture, doctrine, and worship. We seek to understand our God, our Father, more fully and thus to deepen in our faith and walk in his ways.

Is Jesus "God"? is an unbiased examination of what the Bible really says about Jesus Christ. It is not promoting any religion. Neither is it arguing the Bible is true, or it's inerrant, or Jesus is God, or even that there is a God. This book just examines and clarifies the Bible's real teachings about Jesus. Anyone, believer or nonbeliever, can use it to determine what the most popular book in history really teaches about the person known as Jesus Christ, who lived and died 2000 years ago. The Bible is unique: It is the world's only unedited, frameless, correlative anthology. It contains a core message-a soteriological cosmology-that only becomes visible when over fifty doctrines are put together. This may not sound remarkable, but it is a feat that has never been done before. No other collected writings of multiple authors spanning over half a century exist, that when put together, create a single coherent whole-without a common editor harmonizing the books, and without the writers following a common frame (standard and guides). Volume 1 identifies the biblical passages that fall under the Pre-Mortal Jesus and Human Jesus domains. This book also points out that regardless of one's opinion about Christianity; it has given major tangible benefits to the world, that directly affects all of us in a positive way on a daily basis. Every right humanity as a whole enjoys today and nearly every invention that makes our lives better-can be shown to owe a debt to Judeo-Christianity at some point in the past or present. This does not necessarily mean the religion is true and the others are false; only that one needs to be honest about how much the world owes to Jesus Christ because of the influence of his followers. Moreover, this volume distills atheism's arguments down to the only empirical issues that matter: I. How did man come into existence? II. How did the universe come into existence? It shows that given what we really know for sure about why Homo sapiens sapiens is so unique and superior to all other species, and what we actually know about how the universe came into existence; the only honest answer an atheist can provide to the above questions, for now, is: "I don't know."

Was Jesus the God Man

The most common belief is that Jesus was the God man; truly God and truly man or 100% God and 100% man joined by two natures as one. This book puts this supposition to the test and elucidates it according to scripture.

People over the years have theorized who Jesus was when He came in the flesh to be offered up to God as a perfect sacrifice. The most common belief is that Jesus was the God man; truly God and truly man or 100% God and 100% man joined by two natures as one. This book puts this supposition to the test and elucidates it according to scripture. The findings are startling and conclusive depicting who Jesus of Nazareth was when He came to save us from our penalty of sin. The corridor of skepticism has pioneered a path of injustices and deluded the truth about God's salvation plan. Many have fallen victim to follow these unsubstantiated long-established philosophies preventing God's people to be who they are in Christ. Was Jesus the God Man unleashes the misnomers and controversy surrounding the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus in a comprehensive format.

Atheists have always asked this. More and more Christians are beginning to ask this question. I think it is because there are so many Muslims coming into the Christian society and claiming Christians believe in three Gods. We tell them there is only one God, but they hear us speak of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Are they right? Deep down, do we believe in a main God and two sub-Gods? This is a deep subject, but the study of it is very interesting and rewarding, and helps us draw closer to God. (This book is similar to "The Road to Heaven".

The story of Jesus Christ goes much deeper than His crucifixion and resurrection. Few will dispute that a man named Jesus Christ lived 2,000 years ago and that He was a great teacher who impacted the world. Christ made a controversial claim—that He was the very Son of God, the long-prophesied Messiah—causing religious authorities in Jerusalem to reject Him, hate Him and eventually succeeded in having Him put to death. Likewise, the local Roman civil authorities also saw Him as a threat and became complicit in His execution. The religions of His day, both Judaism and paganism, opposed the growth of His teachings and used unlawful and violent means to try to destroy the Church He founded. The government of Rome also came to vigorously persecute the followers of this Jewish teacher from Galilee. Today, there is much confusion and questions concerning this controversial figure. Where can you go for the answers? The Bible. This Bible Study aid booklet, "Jesus Christ: The Real Story" will help explain what is written in the Bible about Jesus Christ. You can discover the answers to these questions and more: Who was Jesus Christ of Nazareth? Where did He come from? When was Jesus Christ born? What did Jesus teach? Was He God in the flesh? Jesus was revealing His identity as the actual One whom the Jews knew as God in the Old Testament." "The New Testament writers cite messianic prophecies from the Old Testament more than 130 times. By some estimates the Old Testament contains 300 prophetic passages that describe who the Messiah is and what He will do. Of these, 60 are major prophecies. What are the chances of these prophecies being fulfilled in one person?" "A careful analysis of Scripture, however, clearly indicates that December 25 is an unlikely date for Christ’s birth. Here are two primary reasons..." "How can we fit “three days and three nights” between a Friday-afternoon crucifixion and a Sunday-morning resurrection?"

The book deals with the real, historical factual person of Jesus Christ. The book shows that not only was Jesus Christ a real figure in history, but that He is also the true Lord God and Almighty Creator cloaked in flesh. This book proves that the resurrection was a real event and real fact in history that can be objectively proven. This will, in turn, prove the spiritual aspects of the Bible must be true; such as the fact that He is the Lord, and that our sins are forgiven for putting trust in this real Man. Joe Cienkowski is a Christian man born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who loves to teach about and share his Christian faith. He grew up in the Roman Catholic faith, but abandoned his faith in his 20's. Joe is a passionate, fundamental Christian, who believes the Bible literally and historically and whose mission is to teach and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. God broke down the many strongholds that were in his life, such as believing in evolution and believing in the Roman Catholic faith. After time in prison for marijuana, he came to understand that Jesus wasn't just some superhero, but a real Man who lived, performed miracles, fulfilled prophecies, and perform the greatest miracle ever: the resurrection from the dead. Although he has no diplomas from any college, he is a self-made ready student of the Bible. He has spent many years studying the Bible on his own, and has put himself under the most sound teachers in the faith, such as RC Sproul, D. James Kennedy, Ravi Zacharias, Hank Hanegraaff, David Jeremiah, Tony Evans, and Kent Hovind, to name a few. Of course he credits the greatest teacher, the Holy Spirit, for teaching him the sound fundamentals of the faith.

Accurately defining the correlation of God and Jesus has been described in our modern day as "beyond the reason of man" and "unable to be explained." Such conclusions are not necessary, however, and when you finish this book you will see that the Biblical teaching concerning God and Jesus is actually very logical. There is one God, the Father. Jesus is the Son of God. Yet, that simple truth leaves many questions to be answered, like Why was Jesus worshiped? Why is the Word called God in John 1:1? What did Jesus mean when he said, "Before Abraham was, I am"? etc. What did the earliest Christians believe about Jesus? All of these questions and more are addressed here. One reviewer wrote: "What this book is not is mimetic and unthinking: it is just well-researched, well-cited, eloquently argued, and uncompromisingly Biblical in its orientation. Kerrigan goes where few tread, not for the sake of argument, but for the sake of truth. What you see time and time again is that the Biblical godhead teaching is plainer than what the theologians have been making it."
